Our story begins in the heart of Rwanda, where we grow and harvest the finest organic macadamia nuts with a commitment to ethical farming and fair trade. Working with 300 farmers and creating jobs for over 600 people from rural areas, we are dedicated to ethical farming practices, sustainable agriculture, and social responsibility. Our team is passionate about bringing you a product that not only tastes great but also contributes to fair trade and the well-being of those who cultivate it. Juvenal says: “In the past, we used to have different buyers who would come and go, especially during times of crisis. It was difficult to find reliable buyers, and we often had to sell our produce at the lowest prices. Gorilla Nuts gave us hope and helped us realize the potential of our farming ambitions. Their team has been consistently supportive, ensuring we sell our produce at the best prices. I initially had 30 trees since 2007, but after partnering with Gorilla Nuts in 2020, I have been able to add 200 more trees. At this rate, I am considering leaving my formal job to dedicate my full time to farming, as it has proven to be much more profitable.”
Boniface says, “I have been a farmer my entire life, but I was never able to truly develop because I don’t own land. However, partnering with Gorilla Nuts has changed my life. I am prospering now because I can grow what my family needs between the rows of Gorilla Nuts’ macadamia trees, which has enabled me to send my children to school. In addition, I was given the opportunity to supply the wood used by Gorilla Nuts in their factory. This has been a huge opportunity for me to earn additional income for my family. Agriculture is no longer the only source of income for me”
Jeanine says, “With the money I earn from Gorilla Nuts, I can take care of my family. I can pay my sons’ school fees and provide them with proper nutrition. Additionally, I am able to employ my neighbors to work in my family’s fields, which has increased my yields and contributed to the ongoing development of my family. Above all, what I appreciate most about Gorilla Nuts is the working environment. It is meaningful to work alongside my peers, feeling valued and supported without any pressure. What I receive in return is far more than I could have ever expected.”
